IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Analysis,Review 2018

All Bank aspirants were looking forward to the Ibps clerk exam 2018- Institute of Banking Personnel Selection exam. It was conducted on 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th December 2018. There were 4 shifts on each day and the level of difficulty of the exam in each shift was varying. This year there was sectional timing for the IBPS clerk prelims exam. Each section is allotted 20 minutes after which the next section will appear.

It’s important to know the different types of questions and level of difficulty of each shift of exam so that you can be clear about your strategy and time management. Here is the important and detailed review of the exam.
To clear IBPS clerk prelims exam “speed” is the key. The questions, in general, will be easy and some are moderate level questions. By practice, you should be able to attend the maximum number of questions in minimum time. In the beginning, attend questions which are easy. You will be able to do such questions which you know proficiently very quickly. Learn to skip the questions which look time-consuming and come back to the question in the end.
A large number of students are attending this exam, so it’s important that you are efficient and competitive with your skills in attending this exam. Here is the overall review of the exam.

8th December

  • Shift 1 :
    This Exam was very easy. Anyone who is thorough with the basics of math can score high. The pattern of questions was similar to last year’s exam. Reasoning and the Quantitative exam was very easy and the English were moderate. Students could attend as high as 93 questions in this shift. However, the good attempt is above 75.

 This Exam was similar to the first shift. Even though some questions where slightly different pattern, it was easy and manageable type questions.

    This Exam was also easy. The standard of the questions was a little higher in this exam compared to the others, but one can easily manage to get a 70+ attempt.

The exam was also similar to the other shifts. Reasoning and quantitative aptitude questions were very easy, while the English questions were slightly different. A Good attempt is 70+

9th December
  • Shift 1

Level of questions was easy to moderate. attempting 70-76 questions with 90% accuracy will help you to pass this exam. In quantitative, there was simplification, DI, arithmetic questions and wrong number series. In reasoning, there were 15 questions of puzzle and the rest was of the same pattern last year.

Moderate and easy level questions were included in this exam. attempting 73 to 78 questions will do the trick.

69 to 76 attempts is good to go. The Exam was moderate to easy level. Data interpretation, arithmetic problems, simplification, DI and wrong number series was included. In reasoning puzzle, syllogism, inequality, coding-decoding, blood relation and alphanumeric series were asked.

71-76 is a good attempt. English questions were very easy. While quantitative and reasoning questions were moderate to easy level.

73-78 is a good attempt. all the sections were moderate to easy level.

In general, if you have attended 75+ and have an accuracy of 90%, then you can easily crack this exam.  Last year, the cut-off was 77 for Kerala region and so this time it will be in the same range.
