Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) exam is conducted by Pareeksha Bhavan, Kerala twice a year in order to determine the eligibility of aspirants possessing adequate skills to teach in Lower Primary, Upper Primary as well as High School classes in the state of Kerala. KTET Eligibility Criteria 2022
The applicants who are applying for the Kerala teacher eligibility Test must have proper information related to the entrance examination and also the eligibility criteria that you need to follow in order to apply for the various entrance examinations presented by the organisation of Kerala Public Service Commission. The candidates must take into consideration the educational qualifications that they need to follow to apply for the various entrance examinations for the teacher eligibility test but the candidates must also know that there is no age limit that they need to follow in order to apply for the Kerala teacher eligibility test.
KTET Education Qualification 2022
In order to be eligible for KTET Category 1, Category 2, Category 3, and Category 4, aspirants need to possess the minimum educational qualifications.

Category 1 (Lower Primary Classes)
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary or (or its equivalent) with at least 45 per cent marks and two years Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002.
OR
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd).
OR
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Note: Relaxation of 5 per cent in qualifying marks is admissible for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Differently abled categories. Also, a relaxation of 3 per cent in qualifying marks is given to OBC & OEC candidates.

Category 2 (Upper Primary Classes)
Aspirants meet KTET eligibility criteria if they possess any of the below mentioned educational qualifications:
- BA/BSc/BCom and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
- BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45 per cent marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (BEd), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition, Norms, and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BElEd)
OR
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or BA Ed or B.Sc.Ed.
Note: Relaxation up to 5 per cent in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC/ST and Differently abled categories. Also, a 3 per cent relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks is admissible for OBC & OEC candidates.
Category 3 (High School Classes)
Aspirants meet KTET eligibility criteria if they possess any of the below mentioned educational qualifications:
- BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45 per cent marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned (from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these qualifications from any other Universities recognized as equivalent thereto)
- For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, those who have an MSc Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50 per cent marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT will be eligible to apply. For Botany and Zoology subjects, those with an MSc Degree in Life Science with not less than 50 per cent marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education are eligible to apply.
- BA or equivalent with at least 45 per cent marks and who passed in LTTC are eligible to apply.
Additional eligibility criteria for KTET 2022 Category II aspirants is as follows:
- Candidates, who have acquired a Diploma/Degree in teaching in any subject and are approved by Universities/NCTE/Board of Examinations/Govt. of Kerala, are eligible to apply for K-TET III. They will have to produce the equivalency certificate as recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala/the Government of Kerala.
- Candidates who have acquired their qualifications through recognized correspondence courses/ Open universities should obtain and furnish certificates of recognition and equivalency from any one of the Universities in Kerala.
- For considering the minimum qualifications, the marks for main and subsidiary papers only will be considered.
Note: Candidates belonging to SC/ST and differently-abled categories shall be granted a relaxation of 5 per cent marks in the minimum qualifying marks. Relaxation of 3 per cent in the qualifying marks is admissible to OBC & OEC candidates to appear for the K-TET- III.

Category 4 (Language Teachers, Specialist Teachers, and Physical Education teachers)
Candidates who possess the required qualifications for the post of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI of KERALA EDUCATION ACT AND RULES are eligible to apply for KTET 4.

How to Apply for KTET Exam 2022?
- To start your application for Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test(K-TET) 2021, visit the KTET official website: KTET 2021
- Click on the New Registration tab on the home page.
- A new window will pop up. Click on the New Registration tab on the right side of the page.
- KTET registration tab will open for you to enter the basic personal details. KTET 2021 New Registration
- Make sure you have the digital copy of your photo(jpeg/jpg format, 150 X 200 pixel and size between 20 Kb to 30 Kb). The name and date of the photo taken should be printed at the bottom of the photo, similar to that of Kerala PSC.
- Check on all the three tabs on the newly opened tab and Click on the New Registration tab.
- A new tab will pop up, here you need to fill in all our personal details and register your candidacy for KTET December 2020.
- Examination fees for the Unreserved category are Rs.500/ and for SC and ST examination fees are Rs.250/.
- There is no age limit for K-TET examinations.
Application Fees

KTET Previous Year Question Paper 2022
Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test, KTET is the mandatory qualification required for all teaching aspirants in the state to work in the schools across Kerala. Every year, Kerala Pareeksha Bhawan conducts the KTET exam twice a year in November and February.
