How to prepare for RPF SI and Constable Exam?

RPF SI & Constable jobs are equally prestigious and well paid. For the announced 1000 vacancies the number of applicants are even more than 10x times the openings. So the competition is tight and only the best ones will survive. As you all know there is no shortcuts for the success. You have to practice daily, have to correct the mistakes and find the weakness and strengths and should focus on them.

Solving the previous year question papers regularly will help you to get the knack and to understand the types and level of difficulty of the actual paper. Disciplined learning and analytical practice can help you to reserve a spot in the final merit list.

For General Knowledge section, candidates should update themselves with the latest news. The new appointments, awards, milestones everything should be noted down. No need to master in the topics, factual knowledge is more than essential. Along with current affairs, static gk is also important to score well. NCERT textbooks should be the bible for the static section. From History to Geography, one can find everything they needed from these textbooks. Class 6 – 12 NCERT books are a must. Candidates can find the daily current affairs quiz on the Entri app. Practice them daily, read the explanations that will be more than essential for the current affairs section. You can find a similar section wise quiz for history, geography and politics based on NCERT on the Entri App.

For Reasoning section, daily practice can do wonders. Most of the exams have a similar pattern for this section, so working out the previous year papers is a must. Practice daily at least 10 questions, because this section will help you to score well. Full marks on this section are not that hard. You can find the previous question papers and the questions along with their detailed solutions in the Entri app.

For most of the candidates,the arithmetic section is the hardest one. But you can score well if you understand the tricks and shortcuts.  Practice is the only key for this section. One has to solve as many questions as possible to solve one question within 30 seconds inside the exam hall. You can find hundreds of arithmetic questions of different levels along with the detailed solutions on the Entri app.  Practice section-wise, find your weakness, work on them so that you can score well in your exam. One can seek the help of NCERT textbooks to understand the basics and theories before starting the practice.

For Constable, the level of examination will be similar to that of the  SSC CHSL, while for SI we can expect questions with the level of difficulty slightly higher and similar to that of SSC CGL. One has to practice well to score more than 80 marks in order to qualify the first level without any concern, considering 2015 cut-off range.
