RRB has invited application from eligible candidates to fill the reported 13,487 Junior Engineer posts across the country. Candidates with a degree or a diploma in engineering are eligible for these posts. Interested candidates can fill their application through any of the RRB website on or before 31 January 2019.
The selection process will be of three stages:
1.Preliminary Stage Computer Based Test( CBT):
For stage 01 CBT all the candidates have to face the same examination regardless of their engineering trade. This level will be of screening nature and the questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the
minimum qualifications prescribed for the posts.
Time: 90 minutes
Number of Questions: 100
Candidates can expect the questions from:
- Mathematics – 30 questions ( 30 marks)
- Reasoning – 25 questions ( 25 marks)
- General Awareness – 15 questions ( 15 marks)
- General Science – 30 questions ( 30 marks)
2. Stage 02 Computer Based Test (CBT)
For the Stage 02 CBT, there shall be 15 times the total number of candidates to be shortlisted on the community wise total vacancy of Posts as per their merit in preliminary CBT.
Time: 120 minutes
Number of Questions: 150
The exam will be of objective type and are likely to include questions from :
- General Awareness – 15 questions
- Physics and Chemistry – 15 questions
- Basics of Computers and Applications – 10 questions
- Basics of Environment & Pollution Control – 10 questions
- Technical abilities for the post – 100 questions
Each question carries 1 mark for every correct answer and 1/3 marks for every wrong answer.
Since the CBT examination is conducting for different schedules normalisation is present in both stages of CBT.
Candidates who successfully cleared the stage 02 CBT will be called for the Document Verification process. At this stage, candidates have to submit the original certificates which verify their education qualification. Final appointment of the selected candidates is subjected to their medical fitness.
Salary
The basic pay scale for RRB JE is Rs 35,400/- to Rs 1,12400/-and other allowances (after 7th Pay Commission). The Allowances includes Dearness Allowance, Transport Allowance, House Rent Allowance & Other Special Allowances.
The House Rent Allowance (HRA) for Class A city is Rs. 4050/, for Class B city is Rs.2700/ and for Class C city is Rs.1350/.
So the in-hand salary will be 35, 400 + allowances depending upon the area of posting.
