Railway Recruitment Board has released the much anticipated notification for the Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) . As of March 2019, 44,531 vacancies are reported.
The Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) vacancy includes Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Railway Boards. Graduation and HSE are the minimum education qualification for different posts. Candidates should note that those awaiting results of the minimum educational qualification is not eligible.

- Phase 01 CBT – Tentatively scheduled for June 2019
Candidates can fill the applications from March 01 onwards till March 31, 2019, through https://thiruvananthapuram.rrbonlinereg.co.in/. The phase 01 CBT test is scheduled for June 2019 onwards. Candidates who are in between 18 – 33 years are eligible for these posts. Candidate has to select the RRB to which he/she wish to apply and can fill the application only for one selected RRB. Candidate has to go through the detailed notification since the number of vacancies and the vacant posts is different for each of the RRB’s.
Un-Reserved and OBC category candidates have to pay Rs. 500 / and all other reservation candidates and female candidates have to pay Rs. 250/ as the application fees. The application fees shall be refunded (Rs.400 & Rs.250) to the candidates after they attend the Phase 01 examination.
For Station Master, Traffic Assistant, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper posts.

For Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice, there is no skill tests. For these posts document verification and medical examination will follow the CBT.
Phase 01 Computer Based Test ( 100 questions, 90 minutes)
Each question carries the same marks. 1/3 negative marks for every wrong answer.
Phase 02 Computer Based Test (120 questions, 90 minutes)
Phase 02 CBT is different for each of the pay level. If any of the candidates become eligible for more than one level then, he/she has to give different CBT’s in the second phase depends on the pay level.
There shall be a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for the candidates who have opted for the Traffic Assistant and Station Master posts.
For the posts of Typists(Junior & Senior), Time Keeper and the Accountant posts there shall be a skill test before the DV.
The CBT’s and CBAT and the skill tests( if applicable) will follow the document verification and the medical examination before the final lists.

For the junior clerk, accountant, timekeeper salary will be on level 2 of the 7th pay with initial pay of Rs. 19900 /, for Commercial cum Ticket Clerk salary will be on the level 3 of the 7th pay with initial pay of Rs. 21700/.
