RRB NTPC Recruitment 2019 Notification: Important dates, Application procedure, Syllabus and all other details

RRB NTPC Notification

Railway Recruitment Board has released the much anticipated notification for the Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) . As of March 2019, 44,531 vacancies are reported.

The Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) vacancy includes Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Railway Boards. Graduation and HSE are the minimum education qualification for different posts. Candidates should note that those awaiting results of the minimum educational qualification is not eligible.

Important Dates
  • Online Application Starting Date – 01 March 2019
  • Closing Date –       31 March 2019
  • Closing Date for Payment of Application Fee  – 05 April 2019
  • Phase 01 CBT – Tentatively scheduled for June 2019

Candidates can fill the applications from March 01 on wards till March 31, 2019 through https://thiruvananthapuram.rrbonlinereg.co.in/. The phase 01 CBT test is scheduled for June 2019 onwards. Candidates who are in between 18 – 33 years are eligible for these posts. Candidate have to select the RRB to which he / she wish to apply and can fill the application only for one selected RRB. Candidate has to go through the detailed notification, since the number of vacancies and the vacant posts are different for each of the RRB’s.

Un Reserved and OBC category candidates has to pay Rs. 500 / and all other reservation candidates and female candidates has to pay Rs. 250/ as the application fees. The application fees shall be refunded (Rs.400 & Rs.250) to the candidates after they attend the Phase 01 examination.

Selection Process

For Station Master , Traffic Assistant, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper posts.

  • Phase 01 CBT ( COMMON FOR ALL)
  • Phase 02 CBT (Depends on the grade)
  • Skill Test
  • Document Verification & Medical Examination


For Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice, there is no skill tests. For these posts document verification and medical examination will follow the CBT.
 

Examination Pattern

Phase 01 Computer Based Test ( 100 qtns, 90 minutes)

Each question carries same marks. 1/3 negative marks for every wrong answers.

Phase 02 Computer Based Test (120 qtns, 90 minutes)

Phase 02 CBT is different for each of the pay level. If any of the candidates become eligible for more than one level then, he / she has to give different CBT’s in second phase depends on the pay level.

There shall be a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for the candidates who have opted for the Traffic Assistant and Station Master posts.

For the posts of Typists(Junior & Senior), Time Keeper and the Accountant posts there shall be a skill test before the DV.

The CBT’s and CBAT and the skill tests( if applicable) will follow the document verification and the medical examination before the final lists.

  • Number System, Ratio and Proportions,
  • Percentage, Mensuration, Time, Work and Distance, Interest, Profit and Loss,
  • Elementary Algebra, Geometry and
    Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics etc.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

  • Analogies, Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding,
  • Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning,
  • Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle,
  • Data Sufficiency, Statement- Conclusion, Statement- Courses of Action,
  • Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs etc.

General Awareness

  • Basic Science,
  • India & World History & Geography
  • Constitution Of India
  • Current Affairs
  • Games and Sports,
  • Art and Culture of India,
  • Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India etc..
Salary

For the junior clerk, accountant, time keeper salary will be on the level 2 of the 7th pay with initial pay of Rs. 19900 /, for Commercial cum Ticket Clerk
salary will be on the level 3 of the 7th pay with initial pay of Rs. 21700/.
